Family Sharing FAQ
How many people can I add?
There's no seat limit, because Offkeep doesn't bill per person — it bills for storage. Add as many members of your household as you like; the only thing that changes your price is how much space the pool actually uses.
Can other members see my files?
No. Every member has their own account and their own encryption key, so their private files are unreadable to everyone else in the pool — including you. Only what someone explicitly puts in a shared folder is visible to the people they share it with.
Can the person paying see everything?
No. Paying for the pool controls the billing, not the keys. The organiser sees how much storage the household is using in total, but has no way to decrypt another member's private files.
What happens if someone leaves?
Their account, keys, and files are theirs and stay intact — leaving a pool is a billing change, not a deletion. They move onto their own plan, and shared folders they were given access to are revoked.
Does each member get their own free tier?
Members of a pool draw from the pool's storage rather than a separate 6 GB allowance. If someone would rather keep their storage entirely separate, an individual free account is always an option.
