What exactly am I billed for?
Storage, by the gigabyte, at the tiered rates above — plus download beyond the 6 GB included each month. Nothing else is metered: devices, syncing, shared folders and household members are all free.
What happens when I delete files?
Your bill follows the meter back down. Because you are not buying a tier up front, freeing space is reflected in what you pay rather than leaving you with capacity you have already been charged for.
Do I have to choose between pay as you go and a plan?
No — that is what auto-flex is for. Your account is billed whichever way costs less at your current usage: the meter below roughly 330 GB, Starter 400 GB from there, and Flex 2 TB from around 1,230 GB. Picking a plan yourself only matters if you want its extras before the storage maths gets you there.
What do the plans add that the meter does not?
File compression, 30-day file recovery instead of 7, full file history, and full audit logs. Everything else — end-to-end encryption, real-time sync, every platform — is identical on the meter.
Is there a minimum charge or a commitment?
No minimum, no contract, no card required to start. Below 6 GB the bill is $0.00, and it stays that way for as long as you stay there.
Can my bill surprise me?
